My Story…
On Sunday, September 29, 2024 I am lacing up my sneakers and participating in the annual Miles for Migraine Walk/Run/Relax in Philadelphia. This event raises money for much-needed migraine disease research, education and support groups.
As many friends and family know I have suffered from menstrual migraines for my entire adult life. After my domestic violence attack in 2003 and my motor vehicle accident in 2017 the frontal lobe trauma has left me chronic with almost daily migraines. I try any and everything presented to me. Jefferson Headache Center continues to give me hope and some good days. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever thought I would be disabled by these horrible debilitating things. This year has been a horrible experience for me mental health has been on a roller coaster because of migraines.
This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart since it has impacted me personally as I have chronic migraines since 2017. Last year Miles for Migraine walk/run/relax events raised nearly $600,000 for research, with a portion of those funds allocated to fellowship programs centered right here in our own backyard.
We want to raise even more this year, because we do not have enough doctors in this field to support people living with migraine, and the research required to find a cure. Please help me reach my goal 💜
