I had my first headache when I was 5. After telling a trusted adult what was happening, I was told that kids don't get headaches. This taught me early on to ignore migraine symptoms. Decades went by with migraine symptoms out of control. It wasn't until a kind co-worker told me they were wondering when I was going to do something about my headaches that I considered bringing it up again to another trusted adult. The difference this time was that I was able to advocate for myself. Fast forward to now where I have taken away the control migraine used to have over my life, and make a living out of helping other's do the same. I have first hand experience with the benefits of specialized headache disorder education as a patient and a provider, which is why the Lancaster Migraine Slayers was formed to support the Miles for Migraine cause. Together with our team of patients and staff, including a physician headache specialist from Jefferson, we are working to improve the lives of everyone touched by migraine. We are excited to share our team merch as our fundraising project. For every hat and shirt purchased, $10.00 will be donated to Miles for Migraine on our behalf.
